YOUR CHANCE TO WIN EDITH!
Though I am not much of a Ford guy, I am offering one of my 1972 Impalas
to whoever can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of
those responsible for setting fire to my neighbor's 1966 Ford Fairlane.
This is just a rotten shame. My neighbor is a super nice guy. He always
cared for his car better than I ever cared for Archie.
Contact me for more info.
(Exceptions: This offer does not apply to whoever set
the fire or to the cops whose job it is to solve the crime)
Here's the Fairlane before the fire.
Here's the damage to the car.
The car still runs! My neighbor was able to pull the car into his driveway!
Sympathy from those who feel your pain

Sorry to hear that news!

That's a crying shame. Some people are so jealous of the things that other people have that they don't want anyone to have them. I hope they catch the punks. --Dave's Uncle Bob (56 Olds, 32 Ford, 49 Merc)
You're a really good friend and a really great neighbor. Nobody deserved this less than you. I hope you find an awesome replacement for your beloved vehicle. --Dave of StillRuns.com
Hello Dave,
I'm sorry to hear of your neighbor's loss. --David Nahikian
omg dave that's terrible!!!!!!i hope they find the person!!!!!maybe u need to put car alarms on to protect them and maybe house alarms 2!!!!just make sure your cars are safe!!!!!! --Sue in Ohio Merde!
I thought that setting car on fire was a french specialty, but no.
Hope your friend was insured, if not what a loss.
--Fabrice from France
Sorry to hear of that, Dave! How terrible. My guess would be some h.s. Kids who think they are funny. Let me know if they find them. I bet they will. Kids talk to each other. --Steve White How sad. I hope the a**hole(s) are caught SOON. But since I live up here in the frozen tundras of south-central WISCONSIN, I doubt I'd be of much help. Take care and keep us posted. --Troy Crazy world
It's the same story everywhere
Deeply sorry for your neighbor.
--Stephane
How sad, you are a wonderful man!! What a way to pay it forward!!
What jerks, and the point? Good luck to you!! If I knew I could convict Ihe people, I would not
ask for the car at all. Just getting the %$*&%$ in jail would be
payment enough. The other thing that upsets me about this is Just not right! It must be very hard to have something you have worked on so long be destroyed by idiots.. Just because! I agree I wish they could of been tossed in the car. - Phil It's the world we live in. No respect for others. That is a shame, heard
about the rash of this vandalism on TV. Cops could care less to busy with
radar vans, license plate frame and seat belt tickets..... --TK
Thats a shame but if you strip the burnt parts off you will relize thats a easy fix but still a shame, don't believe me,give it to me and see :) Makes me sick. Too bad they could not have been caught in the act and thrown in the car. Just senseless. TK So sorry to hear of this. Hope you have her back in action again soon, better than ever!
Steve White
Kansas City I hope whoever did this gets AIDS from a toilet seat. - Skid, from Ricecop's Rice or Not Sorry to see this happen. I always liked old Falcons. Maybe next time the arsonist will set himself one fire. The only good thing once you strip it and steam clean,it will go back togehter quick once you have a donor car. I love the '66-67 Fairlane and your neighbor's car was a nice one. Here's hoping that the car can be repaired and the arsonist will be caught and punished. What a cowardly thing for a person to do; everyone knows you just don't mess with a man's car. - Jay, from Ricecop's Rice or Not I hope that the perps are caught for what they did to your neighbor's car Dave. I hope that it can be restored to it's former glory.- John from Everett Massachusetts. There's an absolute lack of respect out there, here in new Zealand as well, why set a guys car on fire?
My sympathies to you.
James Buchanan. Bu-Mac Components NZ. This is goddarn weird arson for no reason. I see that each morning reading the police reports of my hometown of Berlin, Germany. There, it's usually leftists trying to set al political statement by torching luxury cars. about 350 that year. Hope your neighbor gets his fairlane fixed soon to ru the a Get a rope! Dude from Texas Hi there, Dave. Sorry you neighbor had to go thru that. I really like old cars in general, but especially ones from the '60s, '70s, and '80s.
I wish you guys luck in solving this crime, and hopefully, the guy who did it, learns his lesson after a few years in the joint. And maybe eventually, your .....neighbor can even restore that old timer to as if it was new again.
All the best,
Steven, in Rowlett, TX Hi, there! I'm very sorry for what happened. Hope the responsible for this will be arrested and behind bars! Disrespectful SOBS.. so sorry bout teh Fairlane.. a classic.
Feeling for your loss in Australia. I actually just cried a little, I wanna find them SOBs my self. Set their insides on fire and see how they like it. I can imagine how he must feel. My grandfather has a 1957 Chevy Bel Air and he loves that car like it's one of his children. My deepest condolences to your friend. I pray that whoever is responsible for this heartless deed is brought to justice. THAT IS A SHAME. DESTROYING OTHER PEOPLES PROPERTY. WELL, IT WAS NOT WORTH MUCH ANY SINCE IT WAS A FOUR DOOR. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. GET A TWO DOOR CLASSIC. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT GO ABOVE 1973. TRUE CLASSICS. Don't let this get you down too bad, you'll be able to put in a new interior = ) Hanging's too good for whoever did this; he or she should be shot at sunrise; no blindfold or cigarette. It's getting so you can't have anything nice without someone wanting to trash it. It's a beautiful car, even damaged. the people who did this just be set on fire im not even a ford guy but these punks ruined a classic its still american i mean what the hell is wrong with people like seriously-austin from tennesee It is sad that not only people cannot respect someone elses property...they cannot respect the classics. Such a poor car. Erik from not snowing in november Canda!
UPDATE!
Dave fixed his car!
It looks awesome!!!
